Cheviot Hills/Rancho Park is adjacent to Century City and Fox Studios, south of Pico, continuing to National Blvd. On the east it borders Beverlywood, going west to Westwood Blvd.
Long considered a great family area, it is anchored by its name sakes, Cheviot Hills Recreation Center and Rancho Park Golf Course, one of the few public courses in Los Angeles. The Recreation Center facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, fitness space and designated areas for celebrations and festivals.
Community involvement in the area is strong. The residents support the Cheviot Hills Homeowners Association, Overland Elementary School, Neighborhood Watch and local businesses.
The residential section is comprised of mostly single family homes, ranging in size. There are sprawling 2 story homes on lushly landscaped lots. Many of these are situated on gently sloping hills, with the added bonus of beautiful vistas. There are modest one stories on smaller lots, nearby the shops, restaurants and entertainment along Pico and Westwood. Like elsewhere on the Westside, developers have been fixing up or building new, trying to keep pace with the demand.
With easy access to the 10 and 405 freeways, the expansion of the nearby EXPO line, and the proximity to Century City, one can understand how the appeal of Cheviot/Rancho continues to grow.
