Pacific Palisades

Pacific Palisades is known for its charming, family oriented, casual village, private and public schools and as the site of the original J. Paul Getty Museum, which showcases antiquities from Greece, Rome and Etruria.

It is situated above Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) between Santa Monica and Malibu. The Palisades Riviera, one of the prettiest sections, is highly prized for its gracious, often understated estates, many with ocean or golf course views. The Rivera Country Club is famous for hosting the Los Angeles Open Golf Tournament. Farther west is the Huntington Palisades, another lovely area of single family homes. The "alphabet" streets, which have smaller lots, are within walking distance to the commercial center of town. The Village with its charming shops and restaurants serves as a gathering place for the community, enhancing its reputation as an upscale neighborhood.  Just past the Village at Sunset and Temescal Canyon is Palisades High School overlooking the Pacific Ocean. West from there are the Bienvenida, Marquez and Shadow Mountain areas.

The Palisades Highlands is at the edge of Sunset Boulevard before it meets PCH, at Gladstones. It is a sub community that has been developed in phases: townhomes, condominiums and executive homes on terraced lots ascending the mountains. This secluded community in upper Santa Ynez Canyon has its own recreation and shopping center. This area is blessed with beautiful views of the parklands and ocean and is close to the hiking trails along the canyon.
