Holmby Hills
Holmby Hills is a visually imposing area running north and south of Sunset between Beverly Hills on the east and Bel Air and Westwood on the west. Filled with glorious estates, this very exclusive and posh section of the city is home to Hugh Hefner´s famous Playboy Mansion and the much publicized Aaron Spelling Estate. Although some lots have been split most of the one to four acre parcels remain intact. Holmby Hills real estate has become synonymous with opulence attracting the interest of a select clientele. Holmby is rich in pastoral gardens and luscious vegetation. The handsome English-style street lamps, designed in the 1920s exclusively for the area, contribute to its unique distinguished character.
Holmby Hills has two well maintained parks: the charming small De Neve Square north of Sunset and the more expansive Holmby Park on Beverly Glen Blvd. south of Sunset, ideal for pleasant walks and family outings. Its playground, putting green, classic lawn bowling field, barbecues and pinic benches enhance the beauty and enjoyment of the area.
Holmby´s stellar private school Harvard-Westlake is one of the top college preparatory institutions in Los Angeles; it serves grades seven through twelve. "Little Holmby" is west of Beverly Glen and south of Sunset; it is a niche within Westwood, not quite so grand as Holmby Hills, but with the same refined estate-like style.
