Hancock Park

Hancock Park is filled with splendid architectural homes that were built in the 1920´s for the upper class. It runs from Highland Ave. (W) to Van Ness Ave. (E), from Melrose Ave. (N) to Wilshire Blvd. (S).  Within Hancock Park is a sub area called Windsor Sqaure with its own particular brand of homes. South of Wilshire Blvd. just outside of Hancock Park, behind a guarded gate lies a stately collection of homes known as Fremont Place. Any dicussion of Hancock Park real estate invariably includes Fremont Place.

Because of its proximity to the reemerging areas of Hollywood and Downtown and the opportunity to renovate some of these classic beauties the area has experienced a startling renaissance. The Hancock Park Historical Society, the Architectural Review Board and the Hancock Park Homeowners Association take their role of perserving the standards and integrity of the area's heritage very seriously.

Located in Hancock Park is the tony Wilshire Country Club, with two 18 hole golf courses, 4 lighted tennis courts and dining and banquet facilities. It too maintains tradition by adhering to a dress code and allowing cell phones only in the parking lot.

By contrast Larchmont Village is Hancock Park's charming casual destination for folks to congregate and enjoy boutiques and outdoor cafes, often with their kids and dogs in tow.

Marlborough, the area's private day school for young women ages 7-12, is esteemed for its academic excellence.
