Century City
Century City, formally the back lot of 20th Century Fox Studio was originally built to be a business district, to attract all manner of corporations and professionals from the business world and film industry. The high-rise office buildings have clean architectural lines and are set in attractive open air spaces near plenty of shopping, restaurants, hotels and entertainment.
The area has undergone a major facelift: The new MGM Tower is now home to ICM; the former ABC Entertainment Center site was replaced by a stunning architectural building serving as the headquarters for CAA, as well as showcasing Craft Restaurant; the Westfield Shopping Center, whose anchor tenants include Gelsons Market, AMC Cinemas, Macys and Boomingdales, among others, was reconfigured and expanded. In addition many of the older office buildings have been upgraded to attract "A" list firms.
Since its inception Century City real estate has witnessed a growing number of gated residential communities known for their amenities and convenience. The best known are: Century Hill, Century Park East, Century Towers, Century Woods, Le Parc and Park Place.
The newest luxury high-rise to grace the area is The Century, which boasts an eliptical shape and sits on four acres with park-like gardens. The residential neighborhoods adjacent this vigorous commercial center have benefited by their proximity to the diversity of Century City. They too, have experienced a surge in interest as evidenced by upscale renovations and the construction of new condo projects.
