Boston

Boston is one of the illustrious cities of the United States, rich with culture, a New England atmosphere and with some of the best schools in the world. With its natural harbor, Boston is considered a major financial center, and thanks to its leading universities stays on the cutting edge of medical research and the development of technology.

The Bostonian residential areas have both traditional and modern homes. Preserved historical buildings are intermingled with newer construction. Boston´s Charles River, as other rivers in major cities in the world, brings life to the city and is the setting for many artistic, sporting and entertaining activities.

The city is divided into 22 neighborhoods, each with its distinct character. Along the waterfront are two swanky developments, Harbor Towers and Rowes Wharf. Areas like Allston and Brighton are student communities while others like Brookline and Jamaica Plain are more middle-class neighborhoods.

The Back Bay, built on reclaimed land, is one of the more upscale and impressive neighborhoods in the United States. It has rows of historic homes and an energetic commercial district including the shops and restaurants on Newbury Street, and the two tallest skyscrapers in Boston.

Beacon Hill, just north of the Boston Commons and Boston Public Garden, is a dignified wealthy enclave known for its charm, beautiful doors, cobble stone streets and ultra exclusive Louisburg Square.

The South End with Victorian brick houses was also built on reclaimed land. The row houses underwent a major renovation starting in the early 1980s. Today the neighborhood is filled with diverse mix of families and young professionals and it is a thriving artistic and bohemian center with trendy restaurants, coffee shops and Mom and Pop stores.

Boston and its outline suburbs are awash in enthusiasm for the Red Soxs Nation, the Head of the Charles Regatta, the Boston Symphony and Pops, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Faneuil Hall and countless other life enriching activities.

Boston is a great historical city to live in, walker-friendly, clean, compact and diverse, full of traditions but also modern in ideas.
